Toyo Koso Kagaku Co., Ltd. was established in September 1974 as a research and development company with the aim of developing pharmaceuticals, foods, health-related products, etc. Since our founding, we have conducted functional research and application development for natural materials from a diverse perspective based on the concepts of sociality, science, diversity, and originality, and have carried out everything from product planning to final product manufacturing. We developed an eye care material in conjunction of three carotenoid pigments (lutein, Zeaxanthin, and Astaxanthin) related to visual function. This material has been nano-sized (average 100 nanometers) to improve the absorption of components.
The eye is the only organ which light enters into the body and is susceptible to the damage of active oxygen generated by light.
Astaxanthin is the natural component of nature No. 1 which has particularly strong active oxygen scavenging ability.
Lutein and Zeaxanthin are tissue components presenting in the retina and play an important role in maintaining function.
Combination of three ingredients is expected for eye health.

We have published the research theme of Astaxanthin（Bio Astin®） ,「Effect of Astaxanthin against muscle atrophy and its mechanism in mitochondria」by joint research with Nagasaki University(Organization for Marine Science and Technology)
It is published at the 73rd Japan Society of Nutrition and Food Science held at University of Shizuoka on 17-19 of May.
